Interview for Scene of the Crime
I moved to a small village just outside Cambridge when Jacen and I married in 1998. I was born in Croydon, lived in Swindon and worked in London. The move to rural Cambridgeshire came as a bit of a culture shock but I couldn’t afford to sit around admiring the view, I was writing about a detective born and raised in the centre of Cambridge and I needed to learn about it through his eyes.
Author J. Sydney Jones is the creator of a blog entitled Scene of the Crime which focuses on ‘mysteries and thrillers with spirit of place’. I have grown to love Cambridge and when, in March 2011, he asked me to contribute to this blog it gave me a great opportunity to talk about my adopted home city, why Goodhew loves it, and the reasons it provides such a great backdrop for crime fiction.
Syd begins :
Alison, thanks so much for stopping by Scene of the Crime to discuss your Goodhew novels and your particular crime scene. Let’s start out with a discussion of your connection Cambridge.
